I have the State Funeral for Carter on in the background. I had to walk in and listen to the sons of Ford and Mondale read their fathers' eloquent tributes to Carter. President Ford's recollection on his trip to Cairo with Carter: I knew the trip over there was going to be awkward and long, but the trip back wasn't long enough.The formality, honor and tribute of these events have a way of putting things aside, albeit temporarily. However, I'm listening to Amazing Grace from the other room and I had to walk in there to make sure it wasn't Miss Piggy.
