A friend of mine was working on his PhD in Historic Theology at The University of Manchester, and he was walking down the street in front of a massive Anglican Cathedral.  He struck up a conversation with a 20-something woman and asked her if she attended the Anglican Church.  She replied "whats that?"  He told her that it was the church of England, to which she replied, "I didn't know we had our own church."  Think about it...they were standing outside of a massive, centuries old cathedral.

Amazing, and England has no separation of church and state.  The Anglican Church is the official national church, and Christianity the national religion.
