Salute to the guy.

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian told reporters that defensive lineman Moro Ojomo won’t be talking to reporters after the fifth-year senior made some candid remarks about the Longhorns’ culture last week.

Ojomo was talking about players keeping perspective on their careers and thinking big picture. He referenced the team’s youth and problems Texas has had in recent years:

“They’re 18- to 22-year-olds that want to chase women, want to chase money, want to chase alcohol and they don’t see the future,” Ojomo said of his younger teammates, per The Austin American Statesman. “They’re distracted by what’s in front of them. It’s such a hard thing, especially guys that haven’t been in a winning culture.

A HUGE NO!

What happens in the locker room, stays in the locker room. You'd know this if you were ever a part of a team.

There's nothing wrong with being honest, regardless. I have been in locker rooms my whole life, so we can debunk that part of a team stuff right there. Saban uses the media to call his guys out multiple times a season. He went in hard on the receivers from the Natty, harder than I believe I have ever heard him go off to the media about any certain player or group of players. This guy did not elaborate or say anything more than we hear weekly from around the country. Chasing girls, money, alcohol??? That's a known around any college in the country. Football players? Shoot, that sounds tame from half the stories I've heard. He didn't name anyone. If they don't like it and think he's speaking about them, they can have THAT conversation behind closed doors or they can step up and get a program this man loves deeply back on track. Nothing wrong with making your intentions known and reaching out through the means you know these guys follow, social media.

Fact is after 15 years of shitting the bed (Texas football) we see the locker room hasn't fixed the problem.

Oh, I agree. That comes from lack of leadership. I have no issues with this guy calling out people only in it for themselves. They want to chase money? Hit them where it hurts and go after them in the media so they start feeling it. Other than that, it's the boosters doing this to themselves. They are paying these guys without seeing results, but then also get in the way of a coach coming in and doing it their way to make necessary changes. So not only do you have players not wanting to change, the dang boosters aren't either!!!

Oh, I agree. That comes from lack of leadership. the right culture.
A little edit there, Casey. 😈 That said Sark didn't show the leadership last year.

Y'all remember the Bo Davis rant from last year about the locker room at Texas? He could have just as easily said the same thing in Sark's office and it would fit.

I've mentioned several times that locker room is in disarray—and frankly that's an understatement.

Just as one example: Last season their players were complaining about practices wanting Sark to move them to the evening hours because "it was too hot to practice in the daytime." Is that leadership? (Before you say yes...hang tight.) It certainly displays a sad mental state: soft if you prefer. A flaccid mentality at best.

How did Sark respond? He actually walked off the field and out of practice: quit on those kids. There's your "leadership."

There are a few teams I have "bookmarked" as good bets for next fall with Texas as one to fade.

I sure hope Sark doesn't get this fixed until after Bama leaves town

If you are trying to turn program around, would you take 2 loafers from UA, Billingsley and Hall? Not good for the long term in my opinion. Don’t believe either will help the locker room.
