Sure seems like his job has gotten harder trying to keep coaches and players around. Price of success I guess. Saban's success creates so many opportunities for players and coaches it may end up being his kryptonite.

It must suck knowing that, once the coaching carousal beings, every one of your assistant coaches are on the top of the list of just about every college job and even some NFL jobs in the whole country with openings. If he hasn't already, I think he'll probably start developing contingency plans in preparation for the inevitable assistant coach poaching that happens every off season. At least then, you'll have a strategy for who can replace who.

This still fucking sucks though. I was really hoping we'd escape the off season with the crew in tact, and just when things are starting to die down, this nonsense occurs.

As the game evolves... The coaching carousel evolves... How does someone make UA a more attractive option to stay for a longer period of time?

A lot of assistants have left for other assistant jobs. Some were asked, some wanted out. It's been a struggle.

Can't ever blame an assistant for leaving for a HC gig though. NOTHING like being the HC in the coaching biz... It's special.

Other than Dan Mullen, what MS coach has had success at another school after leaving. IMO, he is the exception to the rule. State needs to understand they are in the SEC west and other than a once every 20 year cycle, they are not going to win the SEC and surely not a national championship IMO.

I would think Sark would be better suited to Baylor as opposed to MSU. Him being offensive minded in a conference predicated on moving the ball. Plus Rhule had got them through the toughest part of the NCAA trouble. Couple that with a bountiful recruiting base and a winnable conference.

He turned them down once already in this process. State is preparing to pitch a ‘more reasonable’ offer this go-around. I wouldn’t put it past Sark to accept the job. He has the mercenary reputation already.

Their most famous ex-coach to date, Darrell Royal.

There's another that isn't as well known but we do see his record pointed to from time to time. You've seen mention of the back-to-back-to-back national titles won by Minnesota back in the thirties. That team was coached by Bernie Bierman. He was at State at the same time Wade took Alabama to the Rose Bowl for their first title.

A side note: Bierman was one of the first inter-conference coaching changes seen when he left State to take over Tulane in the Southern Conference and while there also won back-to-back-to-back conference titles. In total, I believe Bierman is credited with five national titles. (cough, cough ... one of them in 1941.)

Brady is currently the passing game coordinator and WR coach at LSU making less than 500K a year... now, there has already rumblings that LSU is offering to make him the highest paid non offensive/defensive coordinator in college football but you have to believe that he would - at the very least - be interested if Saban is not only offering to make him one of the highest paid non head coaches in college football along with giving him control of the offense, which he does not have at LSU and they are not going to give him considering Orgeron's buddy is the OC.

As far as Moore, yes he has NFL options. McCarty is trying to get him to stay in Dallas and Philly is interested, but he's also shown interest in the University of Washington OC job, too. Granted he is FROM Washington but you have to think if he is willing to hear Washington out he would be willing to hear Bama out, especially with the opportunity to learn under Saban.
