I saw it; it also got chuckles from Blackledge and Patrick. If I'm not mistaken, this is not the only incident involving an official & player for this game. The announcers mentioned that an earlier incident had occurred, but I didn't recall seeing that--must have been on a fridge run at the time.

I saw that last night, and had to rewind the DVR to make sure I saw it correctly. Very, very weird... yet almost par for the course with the SEC officials these days.

QB or not, if a player is heading at me with full gear...I'd give him the shoulder too. He also picked off a LSU defender in coverage on a cross route that was caught for SC's first touchdown.

Colin Cowherd just talked about it on ESPNU (and ESPN RADIO) just now. It's definitely gathering pace and hopefully this ref will be fired...it's very obvious he hit the guy on purpose.
