A friend just emailed this to me and was asking if this was true or not, I don't know. He said he was reading Tigerpoop.com and came across it. I don't go there any more because I enjoy what few brain cells I have left. But they are saying the SEC refs office is in Alabama and thats where they pick up their checks, thats why Bama and the Barn were the 2 least penalized teams this year. Any truth to it?

where is the s.e.c. office located?

where do the ref's pick up there checks?

the answer to both questions is alabama.

who were the least penalized teams in the s.e.c.?

the war chickens and the gumps!!!!

makes me wonder! and answers the question how every team that plays l.s.u. avgs. 2 flags less then their overall avg. for the year!!

Yep, all true. The SEC doesn't pay the officials for gas mileage though, so they might be going on strike soon. No worries though, we'll buy the scabs too.

It's true that the SEC offices are in Birmingham.

Whether Bama is the least penalized team in the conference or not I don't know....

But I dang sure wouldn't apologize or explain to anyone for playing a clean, disciplined, thug-free game... especially to the current trash in red stick!

Amen.

I can't believe I never knew their office was in Birmingham. Maybe those last few brain cells I was holding onto have departed. :(

Yep downtown B'ham right next to the Civic Center.

They actually share the same Parking garage.

The "reserved" SEC parking spaces are ORANGE. Truth

All I'm saying is all I'm saying.

Tell your friend when you have a "lame brain" for a coach that your team gets penalized more. And teams that have defensive minded coaches get penalized less. If he still thinks the SEC is prejudced toward Bama and the barn(What a joke!), ask him to explain why 7 of Bama's 8 SEC opponents were given open dates prior to their game with Bama this season, and 5 of the barn's 8 likewise. There were 42 such open dates in the SEC this year among the 12 teams meaning the average was 3.5, yet Bama was hit with 7 and the barn 5.

After re-reading my post I should have rephrased it a little. My bad. But my friend that asked me that is a Bama fan and was on their site.

The question I was asking for him was if the SEC Refs really did have an office in Alabama, not if there was any truth to what the corndogs were claiming that "Chopblock U" and Bama are the 2 least penalized team because the refs get their checks from here.

While the offices are in B-ham, the refs don't live there. It's an asinine argument that some people throw out there. Heck, the crew that has taken the most heat this season has it's head guy in Charleston. He's a Clemson fan. Two of the other three live in Kentucky.

FWIW, you can tell your friend the reason the SEC placed their offices in B-ham had to do with it being as close to the center of all the schools in the league as possible.

Yep, I met a former SEC ref this summer. He was the biggest Vol fan (even played for them). Wish we had a few on our side.

Yep, the office is in B'ham. That's why Bama has always gotten such a favorable schedule compared to it's oppoents :D
