One thing that I think is important to point out (and it's something that gets lost a lot in the AU snub talk) is this;AU was NOWHERE among the preseason elite that year. You say, "well BAMA was not this year either", and that's true.Here's the difference.BAMA has fought their way up to the #2 slot with the help of teams losing.AU never made it to #2 because Oklahoma never lost. Oklahoma was the preseason....season-long #2 team in the nation. AU had no chance to play in the championship game based on that alone.We still rely on the polls to a degree. And BAMA holding the #2 slot carries a little more weight that some realize IMHO.
