| FTBL NFL Draft Projections...

Do you think Cody will leave after this year?

After almost sustaining a season ending knee injury, I wouldn't blame him a bit if he can get 1st round money.

As much as I love Cody, and I do, we have a freshman NT right now that is going to be just as dominant as Cody.

He loves UA, he isn't a kid that is just itching to go pro... but when that much money is involved, and if he is still projected to be a mid-late 1st rounder, then I think he will go. It would be the smart move.

Do yall see JPW going anywhere in the draft?

Tony thinks he will be a very late 2nd day pick or sign as a free agent as of now. He is getting a Sr. Bowl invitation though, so he will have a great opportunity to showcase what he can do down there and quite possibly improve his stock. Senior Bowl week (Mon-Wed) is when the most movement is made in terms of draft stock.

A thought that didn't sit well with Arkansas fans during that game week was a lot of the reasons Jonathan Luigs was the Rimington Award winner last year was the attention he received because McFadden and Jones were in the backfield.

Interesting he's not on this list...

WRT Cody, if he bounces back strong and dominant, his status could be boltered. NFL teams will then lean heavily on the Bama coaching staff's opinions of just how ready Cody is to make the jump to the jump. Being 18 months removed from JUCO will have to be addressed, because ability is just one factor. Finally, the needs of the teams picking early will play a role in that if only late round 1 teams need a NG, he may wait (gamble) to try to increase his selection slot next year.

You know I have been thinking about this as well and I am torn as to whether I think he should go. Obviously he will decide what is best for him and his family but as much as I want him back next year I think he should go ahead and take the money. A guy with that big of a frame can only withstand for so long the grueling games.

Make your money while you can and set yourself up for life after football. One Auburn chop block and you could lose your career. :x

However hasnt it been stated that he loves the school atmosphere and wants to come back next year?? Has that changed at all with how high he is projected to draft?

The NFL's recent perceived spike in value of defensive tackles, as exhibited in the emergence of Albert Haynesworth this season (who, BTW, is going to sign a HUGE contract for next season), will no doubt give players with potential at that position maximum value.

That being said, Cody will probably be at his peak value in the upcoming draft. It would be in his best interest to go pro.
