OK, here is the situation.

The computer system here at work has been setup to block all external drives such as thumb drives and external hard drives.

I have an external hard drive with a boat load of music on it. Is there a device similar to an ipod docking station that I can use with my external hard drive?
 
If your device has a USB interface, there are quite a few boombox type players that will accommodate a USB input, for example...
