O K I can live with that. I thought it should have been Matt C. But 9 out of 10 it going to be the QB. And on Def. I'm not going to say Mr Gilberry doesnt get the def. award.
By the way if you didn't know Coach Saban get 4 mill a year.

I kind of think Caddell deserved it more. If there was a 1st quarter MVP, then hands down JPW. If there was a second, on defense, my vote may have to goto McClain if nothing more than pure guts.

Caddell did have the best game of his career but with the MVP it's a numbers game. Wilson's 3 TD's vs Caddell 4 receptions with 1 TD. The blocked punt helps Caddell, but it doesn't compare with Wilson having some much of our offensive production...256 out of 388?

I guess those numbers are just too scewed to me. Sure he got 256 yards, but only completed 59% of his passes. Colorado is 104th against the pass giving up 262 yards per game. He didn't even make the average. There were also several plays where he hit the defended square in the numbers so there could have easily been two or more additional int's.

All of Caddells catches were for 1st downs or touchdowns, including his last catch was a huge 3rd down catch late in the 4th that allowed Alabama to take another 2 minutes off the clock. If he hadn't fumbled, I'd be really addament about it, but since he only got 4 looks, it's hard to show numbers. All his catches were timely.

I don't disagree he threw some bad passes...don't get me wrong.

There are two things that need to be pointed out here.

Completing 59% of passes is a pretty damn good showing for any QB. That would have put him (if he did it all season) as the 4th most accurate passer in the SEC. (Tebow- 68, Woodson and Ainge at 63.)

Secondly, and most importantly (even taking the season as a whole) he was doing well until we had another shake-up on the OL with Britt going out late in the 1st quarter. Considering how many different alignments we've had along the OL this season it would be hard for any QB to maintain a "groove."
