Re: Meyer moving to Indiana

Meyer enjoys a very comfortable professional relationship with UF President Bernie Machen.

Machen was the then President at Utah and oversaw the hiring of Meyer from Bowling Green to Utah.  One year later, Machen was hired at UF.  One year later, Machen targeted Meyer as the chief candidate to replace Ron Zook.

Machen likes and respects Meyer to the point Machen was more than willing to privately and PUBLICALLY reject Steve Spurriers very real desire and efforts to return as the HBC at Florida.

Machen has no threat to his job as UF President, which means Meyer has the strongest supporter possible in his camp.  About the only way I see Meyer leaving Gainesville for Notre Dame is if the Domers hire Machen first.  If so, all bets are off.
