That was a good race, Golden Tempo at 23 to 1 comes from dead last - jockey making a last-to-first move very late - to edge out his brother riding the favorite.
Yes, I loved that. Learn English, work hard, be respectful were the three lessons I heard that he had for kids in his native Puerto Rico.Very strong horse and a great rider made a lot of people proud. Also, the jockey had a great message for kids in the interview while still on his mount for the cool down.
Same here. We missed a goodun'.I forgot all about the race today. I do not remember the last Derby I missed.
She was probably betting on the jockey. That dude can race. Of course the horse has a history of closing. Will probably win the Belmont easily. My girlfriend put $200 on Good Tempo, I talked shit at the half pole……
Oh this will make you laugh, she knows NOTHING about horse racing, she liked the horse’s name “sounds like the horse enjoys music like me”She was probably betting on the jockey. That dude can race. Of course the horse has a history of closing. Will probably win the Belmont easily.
Golden Tempo has salted away millions in stud fees for the owners. The risk of an injury in participating in the Belmont is significant, so they'll have a rested runner for the finale, and win or lose the horse will be a desired stud.No Triple Crown winner this year. Good Tempo has withdrawn from the Preakness and will focus on the Belmont
It's interesting how 18 of the 19 were direct descendents of Secretariat. BUT, the winners came from the broodmare side of his lineage. I came across this note:Golden Tempo has salted away millions in stud fees for the owners.
For instance, Golden Tempo (who won the Derby) was out of a broodmare named Carrumba. Carrumba was sired by Bernardini, who was sired by A.P. Indy, who was sired by Seattle Slew. Seattle Slew was bred to the broodmare Weekend Surprise to produce A. P. Indy. Weekend Surprise was sired by Secretariat. So that is the connection from Secretariat to Golden Temp - on the dam side, and way back.
Sounds like the lineage of someone from auburnIt's interesting how 18 of the 19 were direct descendents of Secretariat. BUT, the winners came from the broodmare side of his lineage. I came across this note:
