on our hopes and dreams.

Ha... I said it the other day in another thread, but he's already selected an agent and gotten the "blessing" for Saban. He could certainly still change his mind, but I don't recall that ever happening when a UA player got to that point.

I mean, sometimes guys want to come back and play more. Maybe he'll convince a few others to stay also, but like Brandon said. I think he's gone, and rightfully so, he's likely a 1st round selection.

And the key there is, Saban doesn't ask those guys to come back. If they get 1st round feedback, his advice to them is to go.

Unfinished business or not it’d be stupid for him to come back

See, this is the mindset I do not understand. Why is it stupid for him to come back if he wanted to come back? He can make make a couple million dollars through NIL, continue to push for his education, and be a leader. To some, having their hands and cleats cemented at Denny Chimes means something. Without those guys, you don't have the program we have. On top of it he can likely make himself another $10-20M if he stays and showcases his abilities again and isn't living in Kool-Aid's shadow anymore (MUCH better player than Kool_Aid I have always said).

And if he tears an ACL or something then he’s cost himself a ton of money

I wouldn't go as far as saying its stupid, but it is something that would be a somewhat questionable decision when it comes to his immediate future. I would love to see him back, but thats my selfish wants. Prothro type of injury, that NIL money is chump change. Of course If I played at Bama I would rival a tenure that is BO Nix times 10 if I could stay at Bama. LOL

Wishful thinking, but for his immediate future, I believe it’s best that he leave. He could get an insurance policy on himself and maybe boost himself with NIL, but likely 1st round money is and will be hard to pass up.
His words after the game, often come from the outpouring of emotions that he just went through. I’m sure he will take a couple of days and cooler heads will prevail.

Guys tear ACL's all the time these days and are back in 6-8 months. NFL teams aren't as concerned about that anymore due to modern science and the ability to get back sooner rather than later. Look no further than Jameson Williams. Selected 12th when he tore his ACL in January. Lions were patient with him and now reaping the benefits.

I understand what you're saying, but even if he tore his ACL he'll have pocketed close to $5M while at Alabama in NIL I would think by time it's over. Enough to get him through and to a substantial rookie contract.

I just don't think it's "stupid" if that is what he wants.

I do not see him coming back, I would love to see him come back though. But that be a lot of money to potentially miss out on. Getting him back would be huge for that position, Amos showed he'll be good when he gets his chance....also have a ton of young talent at the position that should develop into really good players, and I'm excited to see them. We'll have key players back for next season on defense, Lawson, Campbell, Downs, Keenan, oatis, Payne, and hopefully Moore as well. We'll have the experience and production coming back, I'm just concerned about certain positions next year. We'll see who comes back, and who leaves next year.

Not stupid if they come back. People have a lot of reasons for making the decisions they do. Get an insurance policy and more NIL money. However, if they get a first round grade, I would recommend they go.
