| FTBL Interesting article regarding Colorado and bowl games past

This answers the question for me.

"I'm not bitter. They did what they had to do. The next year they went 12-0, 13-0 something like that and won the national championship. So they had a good team in a great program.''

The guy needs to read his own words, yes he is bitter.

The first reply says it all underneath the article. Anybody remember the 5 down play that they got against Mizzou in 1990 that enabled them to have a share of the MNC that year? Now that is sho nuff cheating.

OMG could you imagine if we put out something like this? No wonder their program has fallen off the face of the Earth. Talk about living in the past. Close freakin practice if you are worried about people spying on you. Geez I am surprised that they didn't try to find a way to blame it on Nick Saban.

One thing of note here. Alabama's DC at the time was Bill Oliver, regarded at the time as the best DC in the nation, or certainly among them, and he certainly had a terific defensive staff with Ellis Johnson and Mike DuBose among others. Their defenses were than among the most sophisticated in the nation. To expect a team the caliber of Alabama not to know how to line up when the offense shifted and accuse them of cheating when they do is pretty lame on his part.

Bring on whatever you've got, Buffs.

Despite what's on some of the message boards, the Buff fans I know here are by and large embarrassed by Hagan's comments. They know that they're in no position to point fingers after the 5th down against Mizzou. The common refrain is "let it go and look to the future" and they believe (rightly so IMO) that Hawkins is in the process of righting the ship at Boulder.

Just for reference do you think our program has fallen off the face of the earth?

given Stallings' first bowl performance, i don't doubt that he probably received information before the game about CU's offensive changes. then again, CU at times didn't execute the new offense very well either which is to be expected. plus, we had excellent defensive personel and one of the best defensive minds on our sidelines.

the truth usually isn't one or the other but rather all of the above.

No but things have not been all roses here lately for us either. But the difference is, I think we have had some bad years but are turning it around, but Colorado is going the way of UNLV's basketball program, more of a "whatever happened to.." kind of situation.

Bama is roughly a .5 game a year better than Col over this time period.
(in other words we are pretty much identical)

Col went 2-10 under a first year coach last year and have rebounded to 6-6. Bama went 6-7 last year and is 6-6 again.

Hard to say we are turning it around and they are going the way of UNLV.

BOTH OF US HAVE FALLEN OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH!

Add to that that Colorado beat a pretty decent  Oklahoma this year.

Bama's "best" win this year was against Tennessee. :?

After thinking about it BAMA football and UNLV basketball pretty much mirror each other the last 15 years!

Maybe, but most could give a flying flip about UNLV now. Not like they are in the medias eye everyday.

NO more Tark. Grand ma ma, Rubberman, Hunt, Anthony....my goodness they were fun to watch and I hate Duke basketball.

Records may be the similar but I would never compare The Univeristy of Alabama to UNLV...in anyway. Not even the sanctions. Vegas is a different world than Tuscaloosa.
