Not sure about order but to me #1 is easy and it would be 2016. That was the best Saban team that did not win a NC. I always thought that team would have gone down as the best Saban coached Bama team had it finished and won it all. Certianly one of my favorite teams the way the played especially on D. I think this was the team that had double digit scores just on D and special teams. Was a crazy good team and should have won it all.... I think this was the game that scarbrough got hurt and he was gashing Clemson before that happened. The D played almost 100 plays as I recall also...

A cut at a couple more, #2 1977 then #3 1974 ( did I mention I really do not like Ara Parseghian?). After this it is a toss up for me.

What about 1978? Lost to Charles White and USC in the third game of the season and defeated #1 Penn State in the 1979 Sugar Bowl.

1. 1977 - should hsve won title, but jumped by #5 ND.
2. 1975 - we beat the brakes off of everyone but Mizzou.... ( only gave up 72 points all season. .)
3. 2016- one of Sabans best teams
4.1974 - BY THE WAY, WE DID NOT LOSE TO ND BY 9 ( it was 11-13)
5. 1971 New wishbone year. Nebraska was not new to it.
6. 2018 Defense had some issues that year.

You're right Mike. My mistake. Thank you for catching that. I'll try fix that in the original post.

1. 2016 National Champion if illegal pick called.
2. 1977 National Champion if media unbiased toward ND. Both lost one game. One common opponent, Ole Miss.
Bama won 34-13. ND lost 13-20.
3. 1975
4. 1974
5. 1971
6. 2018

I knew something was not right about 1974. I recall the 11-13 score all to well once you posted it.
