I'll say this and then duck.
Take away the complaints about how she sounds and consider Beth Mowins content. She's one of the better ones.
Jessica Mendoza comes to mind for softball. Pam Ward as well (Mowins fits here as well.)
Rece does a pretty good job in basketball and I've liked some of the observations I've heard from Jim Calhoun. Bobby Knight does a good job as well. In football, Blackledge comes to mind. I know some will say Herbie but I feel he gets caught up in the games a little too much (not that it really bothers me.)
Karl Ravech does a good job with college baseball. I've appreciated what Orel Hershiser has brought to the game.

Yeah, I like Tony Romo and Jim Nance. Last year Jason Witten, Cowboy TE, "retired" from the NFL and joined the MNF crew and was really good. Since he's unretired now and playing again, MNF really misses him.

Levy tries to make a pun on every comment - he sucks! I've never cared for Brock Huard - he reminds me of Todd Christensen.
Gary is trying to do too much now (as far as trying to promote his initial narrative). This may be because most of the games I hear him do are Bama games & score is getting out of control.
Nessler is ok, but I actually prefer Vern over him. Vern had a more natural excitement for the game.

That's because this is a football crowd. He's informative while being simplistic. "No shit, Greg" could be a drinking game.
He's just as bad if not worse in my opinion. The majority of his comments are negative about the player.

In my defense, we never specified that they had to be duos.
But if that's the case:
College: Uncle Verne and Gary
NFL: Nantz and Simms
Gus Johnson will always be one of my favorite commentators for anything.
Mauro Ronallo (wrestling, MMA and boxing) is my second favorite.
Jim Nance, Tony Romo, Gary Danielson, Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit are some others I like. I know a lot of people don't like Dari Nowkhah but I enjoy him, too.

My two favorite commentators are Doc Emrick (NHL) and Jim Nance.
There's nothing better than hearing Jim Nance commentating the Masters
I enjoy Nessler, Aikman, John Smoltz, Herbie, Rece too.
As for McElroy I think he’s absolutely terrible. I think he tries too hard to come across as not being a Bama alum and well His commentating is horrible

Bill Macatee, there's another good one at Augusta. Feherty does a good job on the course as well. Heck, Dottie Pepper does as well. There's a slew of them we can point to for that event. Venturi, Summerall, Scully, Musburger, McCord ... Scott Van Pelt has done a good job covering golf his entire career.
