I have a rack I had built into the deck at the house. As mentioned, tore down the deck and was/am in the middle of rebuilding (until I got a bit sidetracked these last few weeks.) It's a 2-bike rack the city was tossing when they remodeled the library a few years ago. It, uh, ended up at my house. In most cases you are right. Here, with the addition of my water bottle and carrier along with the stand, the bike may weigh...a lb more? 26lbs 1oz. without accessories. This stand, while center mounted, fits flush with/underneath the chainstay. It may take up a 1/2" of my ground clearance.
