Realistically, if that play is called, 8 out of 10 times it should work. It was a naked bootleg where most of the times the DB's release and cover the run. The problem I saw was there should have been a TE to block on the line. At least, I don't remember seeing one there.It's a "touch" pass in that situation as well...which was thrown off by the blitzing MSU player. (Brown?)Not a bad call in my opinion...just not executed.
