Many of you guys have totally misunderstood what I was trying to say about Applewhite.

Let me give you an example.  OK, take the goal line series.  After watching Grant run up the middle twice and then JP throw the int for a TD, don't you think Saban and Applewhite will sit down and review that series?  Don't you think Saban will suggest many some other ideas for success in that situation?

At his press conference he mentioned that if blocking was executed we'd have a TD.  I trust that would be true.  Then again, if blocking was executed on many plays we'd have TD's.  Maybe that was a pretty general statement; maybe it was specific to just that series.

No, Coach Saban didn't come out and criticize play calling on that series.  I'm glad he didn't.  But to think he won't take that back to Coach Applewhite and brainstorm for future situations is ignorant.

At very best this type game can be a valuable learning tool for coaches and players alike.  The question is will it be applied and used as such for the rest of the year or will it have to wait til next?  I guess at this point that is only a question that the players and/or staff can answer.
