why why WHYYYYY are some of us already trying to crucify CMA? the ones who are act like he should be putting up Jimbo Fisher/LSU numbers or something. i looked at some stats comparing our offense through Saturday to our offense at the end of the 06 season (bowl game included).

34 TD, 29 XP, 21 FG, 1 safety, 298 points, 22.9 ppg. 8th ranked total offense in the SEC

JPW pass avg/game: 216/379 (57%), 10 INT, 2707 yards, 17 TD, 208 ypg. 5th ranked QB in the SEC

red-zone: 40/53 (75.5%), 20 TD. 7th ranked RZ offense in the SEC

33 TD, 31 XP, 2 2-pt conv, 21 FG, 1 safety, 298 points, 29.8 ppg. 6th ranked total offense in the SEC

JPW pass avg/game: 203/373 (54.4%), 8 INT, 2231 yds, 14 TD, 223.1 ypd. 4th ranked QB in the SEC

red-zone: 37/43 (86.4%), 25 TD. 8th ranked RZ offense in the SEC


guys, we're pretty much right on track with last season. some categories have already exceeded last season, some will be pretty much even, some will be exceeded. we SHOULD (i hope) put up some numbers against UL-Monroe, and UGA has shown what we already knew about AU's secondary. last time i checked, we have a pretty decent deep threat. you can't expect CMA to come into the SEC from RICE his first year and blow last season's stats out of the water. the fact that he is meeting or exceeding those numbers in his first year should be pretty promising for someone his age and ability. the offense of 06 was in its 4th year and we are meeting or exceeding those numbers in the FIRST year of a new, fairly green OC. just think in 2-3 years when some excellent recruiting and experience really starts to shine. let's think past our noses here....
