You may be right on both cases but it does not meet the smell test for me.  Why would O'Brien do that especially as things started changing in UF's favor?  I would think it makes more sense that there were execution issues that never got completely resolved.  This is an issues with younger teams.  Now I expected this on offense but expected the D to be able to much more easily adjust and find a solution to whatever UF was doing.


On Golding, I am sure he tried to make adjustments.  Now if you want to say they did not work I am with you.  Honestly as I said in one thread that if the guys on both side of the ball are not whipping the guy in front of them or they are making lots of mental errors the coordinators play book is handcuffed.  It is indeed the coordinators job to get these issues resolved through recruiting, and coaching them up during the week.  Hard to do that on game day when you are not controlling your gap.
