| FTBL Has anyone thought this might happen Going into the SECCG

Funny you should ask, but we were discussing this just this morning. I don't know that the BCS would allow such a thing. Bama 1 and Florida 2...or vice-versa, could they actually play again for the title game because they would still be one and two after the SEC game? BCS chaos? Absolutely!!!

If that occurs the loser would be jumped.

#1 would fall to 3...or #2 would fall to #3. I know it's not "right" but I think that's how they'd play it.

If that's the case Oklahoma would enter the title game.

Let me correct myself. I tossed Oklahoma out in the air, what I should have said was...who ever is #3 and/or the Big 12 champions.

If Bama is #1 and beats #2 Florida, the situation is solved. #3 will take the #2 spot. 'Bama vs #2 (whomever) in the title game.

HOWEVER...

If #2 UF beats #1 'Bama...the poop is all over the fan...all over the wall...all over the glass...etc.

BCS better hope Tech WINS OUT and they better hope Bama beats UF. #1 Bama (perfect) VS #2 Tech (perfect) for all the marbles.

Another thing just to add to the "did you think about this" subject.

If Bama wins, that makes the 3rd year in a row the SEC Champ is in the NC game. The question I'll be wondering at that point will be how far Florida would fall? Does the SEC see two teams in the BCS Bowl games again this year? That would mark the 3rd year in a row as well that 2 teams made it that far. When UF won the title, LSU played in the Sugar...last year, Georgia in the Sugar.

Now, on the flip side...if Bama loses in the SECCG, we'll see a SEC team playing for the NC for the third year in a row. We'll also see two SEC teams playing in BCS bowls for the 4th year in a row with Alabama getting the at-large invitation.

While I don't care for Roy Kramer a bit, I'm sure he had this scenario in mind years ago...

Texas is the wildcard in all of this. Not sure how the new BCS will unfold, but the Horns are still ahead of UF. If that holds true...UF will be the "Auburn" of 2008, in respect to being locked out.

Still so many games left...
