| FTBL Guess who's working on tackling??

FWIW, Saban has been working with those two individually on tackling drills for a few weeks now. It's one of those changes that he referred to in a presser a few weeks ago.

Makes you wish for the days we had a guy like Lane, doesn't it?

Saban also knocked the ball out of Coffee's hands yesterday as he toted it around practice. I bet Coffee was looking for a rock to hide under.
LOL, that would have been a sight to see.

Coach Bryant would have made him take it to class with him.

Now he was a kicker with a chip on his shoulder. I like that.

Anyone else remember the 01 South Carolina game?

The thing I remember the most was how bad our kickoff coverage was back then. And when he went down with the torn ACL all I could think about was how many touchdowns he saved the team.

don't forget that he would have also would have made him sleep with it also.

Show me a player in today's time who could play ball and still kick the ball, with a knee practically shattered in pieces.

Beardon was a headhunter! He's the only kicker I've ever seen who went down the field looking for someone to hit. Him and Tyler Watts were tough guys.

It isn't out of the question that Saban goes as far as having Coffee tote it around campus if he continues to drop the ball. Right now, it's been limited to football related activity.

I firmly believe getting the ball knocked out of your hand by the head coach in drills embarrassed the hell out of him.

Just reminiscing about Mr Bearden the other day at lunch. To see him, knee brace and all making a tackle. :) It's a beautiful thing.

He was the only kicker I've seen to get an unnecessary roughness penalty. He was quite the Bad @$$.

Since the topic is about tackling, has anyone been disappointed with Rashad Johnson this year?

Remember, I am just referring to his tackling.
I notice with him and other DBs, that they are just lowering their head and putting a shoulder into the ball carrier instead of wrapping up. I may be wrong, but that is one of the things that sticks out in my mind.

I've thought the same thing. His angles have been pretty bad at times. And pretty soon he's going to get called for a horse collar.
