not sure how some of you feel about this guy, but this is one hell of an article. brings up some good times back in the day watching him play. what a shame he had a hip problem...

Even though he was a Barner, he was an amazing athlete. Him running over Bosworth was one of my all time favorite NFL moments. IMO, had he not had the hip injury he could have been hall of fame material in baseball.

I remember Bo Jackson saying, when asked why he chose Auburn, that he had preferred Bama, but when he asked the Bama coach who was recruiting him if he'd play as a freshman, he was told no. I've always thought that the best answer in that situation is "if you are good enough", and had our recruiter given that type of answer history could have been different. Bo in the same backfield with Walter Lewis and Ricky Moore would have been special, and we had two really good receivers in Joey Jones and Jesse Bendross as well.
