The Winfield (Ala). Touchdown Club is sponsoring the school's inaugural All-Sports Banquet on Saturday, Aug. 18. Serving as guest speaker for the event will be former University of Alabama coach Gene Stallings with his national championship quarterback Jay Barker serving as the introductory speaker.
Having shared the sidelines en route to the 1992 national title, Stallings and Barker will now share the stage at the Winfield City High School Commons as motiviational speakers for the Northwest Alabama community.
Beginning with dinner at 5 p.m. followed by the speaking portion of the event in the adjacent gymnasium at 7, an autograph and photo session will be held in between for the more than 400 which have purchased all-inclusive tickets for the evening. Additional fans will be in attendance for the speaking engagement.
Video clips will be presented to those in attendance highlighting the Alabama careers of Stallings and Barker just prior to their respective remarks. A video journal will also be shown highlighting the four-year Winfield Pirates' run to a 48-7 record and three consecutive appearances in the state semi-finals or championship game.
All proceeds from the event will be used for future projects for the Winfield City High School Athletic Department.
Anyone wishing to learn more about the event is invited to call Winfield Touchdown Club President Jamie Long at (205) 495-0761.
Both Jay Barker and Gene Stallings are clients of The Todd Greene Agency and Football Speakers.com For more information on how you can create a winning event call Todd at 865.637.1020.
