Freddie is a great guy who is very humble and does not like draw attention to himself. He has asked that I let the Bama nation know that although he was designated a protected player by the AAFL, he will not be participating in the new league.

"I had every intention on playing again. I felt that the league's arrival was especially for me. It was going to be a win win. I could play professional ball again and I could play in an area that would be very supportive."

He appreciates the fans support and was looking forward to playing again, but has decided to remove his name from the team roster due to a difference the two had with his contract. Freddie will always be one of my favorites. I wanted to share this with you guys over here.

That stinks, Where's he takin it now?
Different career path all together?

That bus incident NEVER happened. It's ashame that rumors like this get started and we as fans take them as the gospel, throw the player to the wolves and help ruin their image. I have spoke to many players who are familar with the situation and they have all said that it was a lie made up by some fan. Here is a link to an interview with Andrew Zow and Freddie I did a while back in which they discuss it, and yes I have talked to others about it. I assure you it did not happen.

I don't get it. If Freddie isn't playing and he says he wants to play, how can there be a difference over a contract? The average pay is about $100,000.00 a year. What is Freddie currently making? He must be doing pretty well.

Yeah I'm curious to hear some details is all. I was looking forward to seeing him on the field again.

Is the average really $100,000 for AAFl players? Thats pretty good for a starting league like this. It's gotta be more than just the pay for him to back out.

No the average pay will be $50,000 with some key players making about $100,000. I did not ask for specific numbers and he does not want that to be the focus, he wants everyone to know that he was not just saying he was going to play without intending to. He wanted to play very baddly. I have a video interview with him I never had a chance to put in an article. If I get a chance I will post it for you. I have hesitated to put it up since I had just bought the camera and had it set on the lowest quality to allow for more recording time. The quality was lower than I expected.
