Yes, but that's better than letting a computer decide who's #1 and #2.  This at least gives the top 4 teams a shot to prove they deserve to be #1 and #2.


If we keep 5 BCS games, do you think the #10 team beats the #1 team or the #9 beats the #2? What a 1 in a 100 chance?  Where as the odds of the #4 team beating the #1 team is somewhere on the order of 2 in 5.


Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer an 8 team playoff myself if the logistics could be worked, but if we goto a plus one, having #1 play #10 (or 8) and #2 play #9 (or 7) doesn't buy much.  All it would do is weed out Notre Dame if they got the #1 ranking  :D
