| FTBL Fall Class

When will we know who makes it in this fall from the FRESHMAN class and who has to go the JUCO route? From what I have read lately we have 25 kids coming in and only 20 scholarships available? How is this all going to pan out?

I has been unfolding slowly in front of everyone...player here, player there...one was given a medical scholly this week.

Saban says it will work out. I believe him.

Another situation that will play itself out is that we have potentially 30 new players coming in, with a 25 limit. Wesley Neighbors will go on Bryant scholarship and not count against the 25, but there are still four others who can't go on scholarship this August. Many have already qualified and none are in a situation where qualifying is hopless. Destin Hood is fairly likely to sign a baseball contract, but other than that we'll have to wait and see.

There have been 4 families that have told the staff that if the numbers don't work themselves out they'll be willing to pay for their child until a scholarship opens up. Those names have been mentioned a few times on different forums, but, on more than one occasion a few of these parents have asked that this information be withheld from public knowledge.

I'm not saying this player is one of them, but consider Barrett Jones as example. You think his parents can afford it? Considering their next door neighbor is Jimmy Sexton is should give you an idea of their financial stability. A few more of our players come from very solid financial circumstances.

Just speculation, I know, but who do you guys see redshirting this year?

I hate to say it, but Star.
To get off subject a little bit, and sorry, but, Has anyone heard what position BJ Scott is playing?

I think he was told the he could start out at offense.
I've heard WR, CB, RB, LB. He was QB, and well, everything else in high school, It would be cool to see Bama use him like Ark. used McFadden. Yall know what I'm talking about. Since BJ can throw and run, put him getting a snap in shotgun. Throw or run. If yall have seen his high school clips, yall KNOW he can run from the QB spot.

Another might be Tyler Love, considering his HS is in one of the wealthiest areas of the U.S. on a per capita basis. I say this with no personal knowledge about their circumstances, but the typical Brookie is pretty well fixed.

I've learned to trust Nick Saban over the last year or so.

I don't know how he's going to make it work out, but I can't help but believe that he has a plan.

It's amazing how my outlook on the Tide has changed since we've got Coach Saban here.

That just goes to show you can't pick your neighbors. :D

The two families are very good friends. Jimmy has taken Barrett and his dad to quite a few UT games. You probably remember Barrett's dad played basketball for UA.
