It's because the computer is taking into account SOS which doesn't work well for teams like Georgia that have spent the most of the earlier season playing bottom dwelling teams.

ESPN will not release what their formula is for their FPI rankings. SOS may be there; I've seen computer models that didn't take it into account. I suspect their rankings are also based on their projections. Look at the record of UGA's next three.

Yea, I realize the exact formula isn't there, and with Georgia playing 3 better teams it should increase their ranking over the next few weeks, IF they win them all.

The @tennessee vs uga game will be worth watching.

And. At least the tn fans are consistent. They are whining about officiating and how everyone hates them.
