I know there's a few on here looking forward to the game... some info is starting to leak out and with a release date on the horizon, more info will be coming soon. Here's a little bit of news from Brandon Marcello... nothing earth shattering, but it's something... My biggest takeaway though is Emily Proud. Never heard of her until 10 minutes ago. Very nice.

I'm waiting for the gameplay footage. I just want a good football game, Madden has been absolutely abysmal for a decade(in my opinion). I have no doubt that the game will be good in other areas, but if it plays like shit.... it'll ruin it for me.

I was talking with a friend about that very thing last night. He just bought Madden this week because it was on sale.... I haven't played Madden in forever and have no desire to since the game play sucks. If EA is throwing the Madden engine into the college game, I'll be pissed. The gameplay was always so much better for the college version.

They can use the same engine and it play better than Madden. It just takes more effort to do so than what they've been doing with Madden. They've had 3-4 years to make this a good game gameplay wise, there's no excuse for it to play like shit. But it's EA, so I'm prepared for it. Haven't bought a Madden game since Madden 20. It's been the same rehashed shit for a while.

Yeah, I didn't word that right because I'm not good with the lingo and such with that stuff... I just mean I hope it isn't the exact same gameplay style. And I'm getting a little concerned that it's going to be. The last Madden game that I played and actually enjoyed was on the SNES.

I didn't mean like that, but I don't blame anyone who feels that way, since it's been the same bullshit for so long now. And that's my fear as well, and I really really hope that's not the case. I'm already prepared for the "pay to win" shit to be prevalent in the game. Playing competitively online in those games has turned into an absolute shit show. If you don't buy packs, then good luck trying to win a game.

Game visually looks great, I was excited up to the point where they showed a bit of the gameplay.... and I gotta say, my excitement dwindled a little bit. Need to see that gameplay breakdown video they used to do to get a better idea of how it's gonna play. But with that being said, I'm still looking forward to this game. They clearly put effort into this game with the visuals, the different traditions, chants, etc...
How do y'all feel about the game based on the trailer?

Just echoing here... it looks great, but I care so much more about the game play than the looks. I just want to play in dynasty mode... I don't give a shit about the stupid career mode... wish they'd shelve that weird shit and put more efforts into making other parts of the game better. 99% sure I'll buy it when it gets released, but if I have to hit 37 different buttons on the PS5 remote just to throw a quick slant, I'll drop it real quick.

The cool thing I saw was that you could have Dynasty mode with online mode also. So you can invite a bunch of buddies and play together and pick your teams and build them through the years. Fighting for recruits and all kinda stuff. Very interesting idea/concept. Not sure how well it works but would be interesting to see it play out.

I don't mind that aspect of it, though I rarely, and I mean RARELY, play any games online. I know I'm in a small % on this, but on the few occasions I play a game, I like to just play alone. My buddies used to laugh at me that I'd get a CoD game or some such, then just play the campaign and be done with it. Another example... my favorite game in the last couple of decades is Red Dead, but I won't play it online. Thankfully, there was enough in single player mode (unlike the Modern Warfare type games) for me to get more than my money's worth out of it.

Same here. I do not know what has happened with people being content with shitty gameplay the last decade. Not just in football games, but 2k and other major sports games. Everytime I talk to people about this, I'm likely to get the same response from them.... "Just be glad we have it at all", or something else along those lines. Expecting a game to play well shouldn't be a minority opinion. It feels like that's where we're at right now.

You made the right choice in not fooling with any games online. That shit has turned into absolute cancer in almost every genre of game..... especially Red dead. Trying to progress online in that game is a major pain in the ass, due to the player base.

I'd be content just playing Tecmo Bowl and RBI Baseball if that's all I had. Told a buddy the other day when this trailer dropped (that plays games much more often than I do), that if I was in solitary confinement but had access to online only gameplay, I'd turn it down and just stare at the walls all day.
