When the Washington Redskins decided on Alabama defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne as their choice with the 13th pick in the NFL Draft on April 26, they of course called Payne. But Doug Williams, the team's senior vice president for player personnel, also phoned defensive end Jonathan Allen.
