| FTBL D-1 Football Scholarships and Stipends

Got a question I think a few of y'all probably know the answer to.

We have a friend whose son is heading to Navy to play football. I felt like I heard Alabama and other schools give each player tickets to every game and that the NCAA also allows the schools to give money to the families to travel and such. Is that true? If so, do we think that applies at one of the Academies like Navy?

Also, don't they give the players stipends or monthly payments these days to cover day to day expenses?

I don't think they give money to families for travel. Players do get some level of stipend to cover "the full cost of college." Players are given two tickets to home games for family members. This was always a touchy benefit in my day because players would sell their tickets (illegal then).

Service academies pay players, and every other student enrolled, since every student is a member of the military and their time at the academies applies to their veteran status.
