From that article discussing Applewhite in his QB role at Texas...


"He was someone who used his brain more than his brawn when manning the offensive helm, making split-second decisions and tending to use the whole field when making decisions."


Which ended up leading to another QB taking his job.  If that approach didn't lead to consistent results when MA was under center why did he think it would lead to consistent results in a situation of rebuilding an offensive approach?


To add one thought to that...


One of his problems as OC was using too much brain and not enough instinct which is one of the reasons you saw Saban yelling, "Call the play Major" in the head sets during games.


Curious Weezy, where did you come across that site?  They sure seem to be a couple of months behind on their articles.  The one with the Clemson logo...the one with the Auburn logo...things discussed long before spring ball.
