Was dropping some really nice comments about Alabama.

He stopped short of picking Bama so far but was clearly leaning towards the Tide.

I know it does not matter but it is nice to hear at least some of ESPN not completely ignoring Alabama.

If you notice, I did not really say it was. What I do notice is the lack of Alabama coverage.

I was merely stating that it was nice to hear some good things about the Alabama program on Cowherd's show.

Colin Cowherd made some of the most despicable and vile comments to ever drool off the lips of a limp wristed pansy during our last coaching search.

Too bad memory chips aren't available for purchase to insert into brains, right Outlaw?

Because Cowherd halfway made a somewhat nice comment about Alabama and the upcoming game does not remove the knife jabbed, from the back, squarely in between the ribs of 'Bama fans.

Colin Cowherd insulted the intelligence of Alabama fans, the validity of their births, our appearances, our supposed squalor that we all live in, redneck this, redneck that, trash this, trash that, etc...

If some 'Bama fans want to smooch up to him and lavish praise on a two faced bigot, have at it.

I am sure, in your eyes, many of us Bama fans are just wild eyed reactionaries looking for any little bit of a perceived slight. But, particularly in his case, the slight is real and really did happen. It wasn't all just in the imagination of 'Bama fans who dreamed it all up.

Colin Cowherd despises Alabama and it is well documented and well known. The only reason he is not bashing for all he is worth now is because it would make him appear foolish. You don't go berserk on the #1 team in the nation without losing some credibility.

Exactly. Cow-hearder is a bag full of hot air...and digestive air at that. I havn't forgotten. that's why when i hear that loudmouth jerk come on i change the station as fast as i can get my finger on the dial.

I have a very long list of ppl i want to beat the dog crap out of on sight....he's around number 50.
In contrast.....Ryan Pugh's daddy and Emsminger are currently in my top 10.

Y'all take him too seriously. He is part sports guy, part funny guy.

He just says the things he does to stir people up.

If you think he has only bashed Bama in the past you are mistaken. He bashes EVERY team with fans that get pissed off at him for doing so.

YOU listen....else how would you know what he said? That is why he does it. To get you listening.

See.

Lighten up. :)

Listen buddy, if football were meant to be fun, they'd play the game with a balloon instead of a leather ball.

I agree. With a name like "Colon Cow-T-eard" he had to have a miserable childhood. He was so sure at one time that BAMA was a dead program unless we could somehow dig up the bear.

I will turn the station to bebop music before I will listen to his Sh|t.

I remember all too well and I agree. I will only "lighten up" about cow turd when he says the same things about other fan bases like what he said about ours.

Actually, I don't listen to him or Finebaum or any of them.

Unfortunately, his bile and froth was highlighted and little snippets of it were replayed on ESPN, on television, during the coaching search.

You have a lot to say about a guy you "don't listen to."

Luckily, I was blessed with a mind that can remember things when I hear things. Contrary to what folks like you may believe, words really do mean something.

Having pride in a team you support doesn't go hand in hand with your cavalier dismissal of over the top and low-brow insults.

I know these guys rant and insult and berate people for a living and are very proud of their accomplishments in life. But, many times when Alabama is being discussed, people tend to go overboard.

I suppose they feel that citizens of Alabama, the Crimson Tide, etc... are a good target and there will be no outrage or backlash if they step over the line in their anger and bigotry.

Regional bias has a lot to do with it. These types of people, such a Cowherd, feel intellectually and morally superior to what they consider unintelligent Alabamians. In reality, their thoughts and words only reveal their ignorance, not their wit.

You know, ESPN literally went into what was practically 24/7 coverage of Alabama's coaching search. For weeks and weeks and weeks the whole entity focused on Alabama.

I guess I watched 30 different analysts, in 5 thousand dollar suits, opine on the many different myriad of reasons Alabama would never get a decent coach.

The reasons included were that Alabama residents were just stupid and what coach would want to coach where stupid fans were. We were irrational, delusional, uneducated, would run any coach off in a period of one year.

Tuscaloosa was a pit of filth compared to lovely and metropolitan Miami. This is when the conversation started coming back to Coach Saban.

I clearly remember some pug faced gimp coming right and saying something like: "Alabama fans, listen to me, Coach Nick Saban will never come and coach your team, who would ever want to be around you people. Forget it, leave him alone, he has already said he isn't coming. Why do all of you keep talking about it, what is wrong with you people?" It really seemed personal to many of them.

When Coach Saban was actually hired and the word hit, it was on. ESPN organized roundtable discussions with analysts sitting around literally screaming at the camera with beet red faces and saliva splattering on the table in front of them. Their outrage was plain to see. It should not have been allowed. Coach Saban lied, children died.

And it just never ends. When Coach Saban called the coonasses by the term coonasses while telling a joke, in private, it was blown up. I honestly heard some clown on ESPN recommend that Coach Saban and Alabama be sanctioned in some way by the NCAA for his comment.

So, you know, if you don't believe that Alabama gets a bad rap and people just love to pile on, good for you. I choose to use the senses that are available to me and analyze what I see and hear.

Either Tuesday or Wednesday, not sure which, Cowherd spent a good portion of one of his hours talking about Notre Dame and their thoughts on how possible it was for them to lure Urban Meyer away from Florida.

I could have taken that segment and played it side by side with one of his shows in December of '06 with Bama and Saban and, with the schools and coaches names redacted, challenged you to tell me which was which.

I have my doubts you could tell the difference.

You know, last year when a tornado went through Enterprise Cowherd made some light-hearted comments about that being tornado alley and, considering the situation, I didn't think that was very appropriate. Crass, to be honest. It got on my nerves momentarily until I remembered he'd made comments similar to those about an earthquake a few years ago.

Everyone hates on Danielson. I heard a great interview with him yesterday on Finebaum.

I girl put a little too much tonic in my drink this week. Didn't stop me from ordering another, or tipping her.

Does that seem like a trivial example? I hope so..because what these guys say on air is trivial.

I'm with a few here...some get entirely too worked up about what you read and what you hear.

My thought, if you don't like what's being said, pick up the phone, call them, tell them who you are and why you are calling, and express your opinion. IF you are hung-up on, chances are you said something to deserve it...

IMO, humbly yours...

Privacy director keeps your calls from ever coming through. But, that was an unnecessary step considering they all said Pay-Phone in the first place. :D

If it wasn't for that laundry mat duty...what would you ever do for quarters boss?

He does man. I listen to him allot and he dogs the HELL out of PLENTY of fans, teams, states and organizations. He does it to be funny and to stir people up.

When I first started listening to him it was during the times he was CRUSHING Bama. That went on for a few months and outside of that I could tolerate him. After a while he moved on. In the last 2 years he has been overwhelmingly positive concerning Bama, the fans and Saban himself. Had Cowherd changed his tune?

On the surface, yes - he changed his tune. The real truth is he exaggerates everything and delivers his points with crass, sarcasm and flippancy. He does it well and is funny when he does it.

After hearing him trash everyone from Notre Dame to Ohio State to the Yankees, I realized he is just a 'funny guy' who comments on sports.

I like it. Even when he is critical of Bama (heaven forbid anyone say anything negative about Bama because we all know how perfect we are) I listen and take it with humor as it was intended.
