| FTBL CBS needs to change up their crew. Gary and Brad are equally as annoying as Verne.

Know your audience? Or, talk to your audience, maybe?

A few years ago you could rely on Gary to have some good, in-game observations noting sets on offense and play probability. Now, his observations are more officiating-centric versus football specific. BUT, if you look at game threads, comments on different media outlets, what do you see from fans (and a good number of the media?) Comments about the officiating.

And, if I may say for the record again, I never found Verne annoying...who cares if he misses a name now and then? (A lot, but exclude me from that one.)

Honestly, I'm struggling to listen to any of the commentators these days. I'm definitely tired of Gary having listened to him for years, it's time for CBS to clean house.

Commentators these days - either beating a dead horse, frat house goons, or just laziness on doing their pre-game homework.

One of these guys tonight implying that Raekwon was eating rat poison is the reason he hasn't been successful this year. Have they watched the game? Another guy saying the 12rc defender who got flagged for the personal foul for the hit on Mac and says, he's not pushing him down as the video clearly shows him pushing him down. Are they paying attention, where do they find these guys?

Boo fucking hoo. I bet if this forum was around in 1992 you'd all be complaining about Keith Jackson or how boring Pat Summerall is.
For what it's worth in 1992 your current "forums" (and this accounts for a lot of sites around the 'net today.) were found on a listserv on UA's server ... and you didn't hear a peep out of fans about either.

I have no problem with Gary not my favorite but he knows football and how to break down a game.
Currently I think Fowler and Herbie are the best.

I brought this up earlier.

Take this season since it'll be easier to recollect. How often have you heard Gary break down plays this season versus past seasons? How often have you heard Gary break down what the officials are doing? I haven't charted the two. I haven't seen anyone else chart it either. I'd suggest we're hearing more commentary this year on replay, officials, and calls than we did yesteryear.

Whine all you want. CBS isn't going to change anything. Ratings are too high.
With some, whining is apropos. With others, I'd be hesitant to use the word.

With me the content of what's being said sticks out although it doesn't "trigger me." That said, some of the things we hear ...

Today, on Championship Drive: Who's In?, Emmanuel Ocho made the comment "I never got up for games like this" when they were discussing the the loss in the Wisconsin vs Illinois. It was an excuse offered to diminish the impact of the loss. Jim Mora was quick to point out "great teams don't lose games like this. They are prepared." {sic} To me, that was an idiotic statement by Ocho and it does take away from the quality of the broadcast.

(BUT, it's also telling. Ocho played four years at Texas; his last in 2011. He mentioned how his first two years were good and then his voice trailed off. 2009 exposed the teams' mentality?)

Booger isn't on CBS doing SEC games (the thread topic).

Actually I was more whining (as you stated) about all commentators these days.

In my opinion, there are a handful of really good ones and CBS doesn't have them. Perhaps I've listened to Gary for too long or perhaps he's changed. A quick look on social media and many other SEC teams are tired of Gary. It's not just my whine.

MNF crew as I understand are really bad, I don't watch the NFL anymore so I can't speak first hand. Cowboys QB's make good commentators - Aikman and Romo.

How many good commentators are there?

Yeah, I like Tony Romo and Jim Nance. Last year Jason Witten, Cowboy TE, "retired" from the NFL and joined the MNF crew and was really good. Since he's unretired now and playing again, MNF really misses him.
