Al Groh, Vince Dooley and Dean Pees are some of the coaches along with Belichick to be speaking to high school coaches in the south east this year at Alabama...Fernando Bryant will be speaking as well.

It's April 3rd through the 5th.

Just thinking about this...

Tell me, do you think that high school coaches just might want to hear what Belichick has to say about coaching?

Do you think they might just want to hear what Dees has to say about the NE defense?

Or, considering we are going to have a few battles with UGA in our recruiting next season do you think it's just a coincidence that Vince Dooley is the key note speaker?

Which program, in the state, is going to have a lot of media attention focused on it? Perhaps, the one with a 3 time Super Bowl winner speaking?

Beautiful move on Saban's part!! I wouldn't be surprised to see, once again, the football program getting national media attention...for a freakin' coaches clinic!!!!!

yea Belichick could teach all the coaches how to go undefeated in the regular season and then choke in the championship. lmao sorry, had to do it.

Probably teach them how to get the most out of a 6th round draft pick too...

Oh, and multiple Super Bowl trophies...

I'm not a HUGE BB fan, but he is one of the best...

That's pretty cool! I imagine the HS coaches will be lining up to go to this. Excellent for establishing inroads to the various HS's. Nice conduit for future recruiting.

Fernando Bryant in charge of the after-session party live entertainment (not to mention distribution of the dollar-bills to the attendees for use in encouraging said entertainment)?

Really sorry, just had to do it.

excellent point. Saban knows how do work the mojo...

I think this shows Saban's commitment to the Alabama program. Maybe it goes without saying, but I think Saban CLEARLY views EVERY HIGH SCHOOL COACH in a 5-state area as a developer of future National Championship winners for the University.

I have long thought that one of the secrets to success at Alabama is to develop talent at the high school level... especially in metro Birmingham and Mobile. In the old days, we used to pull dozens of players from these areas... not so much the last ten years.

The key, IMO, is the coaching in these areas. Getting a coach into Vigor or Woodlawn or wherever that can develop talent will only help Alabama.

Saban is absolutely showing a commitment to Alabama high school development... and that will lead us back to being the team of a decade coming soon.

I'm sure it'll get mentioned by the print media, probably by a few of the fans of the other schools in an attempt to cloudy the waters...but, I can assure you it won't be something that would be a difference maker in the eyes of high school coaches.

I certainly don't see any recruits we are after thinking about spygate, but I do see them thinking about the 3 rings all in relation to Belichick, Saban and Alabama.

That's a great move. Despite some controversy surrounding BB,and I really dislike him, but this is a positive play on Sabans part. Terry's right, there maybe a mark against BB ,but the coaches will be all ears when it comes time for him to speak.

The media will play it up and some down but regardless,we will be getting some exposure.

The list of BBs accomplishments at the pro level plus the high level of respect he has achieved from other coaches, media and younger atheletes will supercede Spygate. Most also, are aware that BB was NOT the only one guilty of this practice but was the one caught with his hands in the cookie jar..

I don't care what anyone says....I like BB. I do not really like the Patriots and for some reason Tom Brady irks the SH@# out of me, but I like BB.

Saban is a genius. Every day I honestly thank God for delivering a REAL coach to Alabama.

Orange Bowl, '99-'00 season perhaps?

I don't care one way or another for either. But, I do respect what both have accomplished.

I hate to say it, but I really don't have much respect for Belichek since the whole "spygate" thing began. It's starting to look like he has been doing this crap for a long time and it belies a character flaw.
If I were Saban I wouldn't have invited Belichek, but since he did he should stick by him. I understand that the two worked together and all that but I don't think we need any more negative press than we already get.

Here's what kills me about spy-gate. EVERY TEAM IN THE NFL TRIES TO STEAL SIGNALS!!!!!!

Linebackers and defensive lineman spend the ENTIRE week before a game looking at tapes on the opposing QB and center to try and get an edge on the snap count, which is perfectly legal. IT'S THE SAME THING AS RECORDING SIGNALS!!!

A had a good laugh at Richt hiding their calls in from the sidelines this season...and that type of *protection* dates back a long time. Heck, remember Spurrier using his two back-up QB's as a shield?

Whether anyone likes it or not Belichick is one of the best minds in football today. I don't care much for this spy gate bunk, and I was actually pulling for the Pats in the Super Bowl. Great move by Coach Saban in the end.
