BAMA Lands A HUGE Commitment Today
And the dominos continue to fall for Nick Saban and company. Only a couple of days after two of the South's top prospects announced their intention to sign with the Tide, Vigor High School star Burton Scott pledged his verbal commitment to the University of Alabama.
Scott (5'11, 195lbs, 4.45) is regarded as one of the best athletes in the nation and can play skill positions on either side of the ball. He has been a two-way starter at Vigor but his offensive numbers are what have most recruiting fanatics foaming at the mouth. As a junior Scott amassed 1,070 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, 1,059 yards and 7 touchdown passes at quarterback, and 353 yards and a score from the receiver's position. BAMA will likely use Scott on offense in a number of roles, taking advantage of his play-making abilities. He could line up in the slot or in the backfield, but the defense will have to keep an eye on him.
Scott chose the Tide over offers from Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Southern Cal, Florida St, Miami, and Clemson to name a few. Scott is on track to qualify academically.
