🏈 Bama RB Jerome Ford in Transfer Portal

Some others come to mind who seem to have fallen down the depth charts despite significant time at the Capstone.....

Jaylen Moody
Chris Owens
Eddie Smith

Not saying any of these young men WILL or SHOULD go.... but we may certainly see others before, or after, A-day.

Is S. Carter still in the portal?????

Alabama has lost yet another player to the transfer portal.

Redshirt freshman running back Jerome Ford, who entered the transfer portal last week, has committed to the University of Cincinnati. Ford made the announcement in a post to Twitter.

In his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Ford rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 11 yards. He appeared in four games in 2019 including a start in the Chick-fil-A kickoff against Duke where he had 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown.

Ford becomes the first player to transfer from Alabama in 2020 after the team lost eight scholarship players to the transfer portal last season.

Those players include quarterbacks Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma) and Layne Hatcher (Arkansas State), defensive lineman Antonio Alfano (Colorado), linebacker Eyabi Anoma (Houston), tight end Kedrick James (SMU), offensive lineman Richie Petitbon (Illinois), defensive back Kyriq McDonald and long snapper Scott Meyer (Vanderbilt).

Best of luck with your new team. Just wondering would Jalen be a portal guy? Him being a grad transfer?

All transfers go into the portal. The purpose is to enforce rules regarding contact by other schools and remove the requirement to get permission from a school before you can transfer. If your name is in the portal then schools can contact you and offer you a scholarship. If not they can't. Graduates who have playing time left are still committed to the school they signed with until they go into the portal.
