🧑‍🤝‍🧑 / 🏡 Bama Burger Reviews

Been a while, but I’ve had Fudrucker’s (also, Fudpuckers… which sells fewer burgers but more t shirts). The one at the Galleria that opened along with the mall and closed in the 90’s was an occasional stop while I was living there. Most recently, I’ve eaten at the one in Pigeon Forge, but even that has been several years.

Ironically, I was reminded of Fudruckers last week on the cruise. They had a Guy’s (Fieri) Burger Joint on the ship. It had a toppings bar that resembled the one Fudruckers had. A pretty good burger too, considering it was “free”.

I tried a few places Guy featured on his diners drive in and dives show. After the 3rd or 4th one I will not eat at a place that's been on there.

The dude gets a lot of hate, but he's supposedly a nice guy. I'm the same as you... I've eaten at a handful of the places he's filmed at and most are just ok. Worst I've ever had is one of Panini Pete's places down on the gulf. It's not just Guy that fawns all over him, people in Fairhope think he's some restaurant god. But I've never gotten the hype. And I'll never forgive him for buying out Ed's Seafood Shed and ruining it (RIP Ed's).

As for Guy... I've eaten at his chicken finger restaurant and it was fine... Not quite Cane's level, but better than most. And his burger joint on the ship was great for what it was (a free burger joint on a ship).

To this day I still make the Walker's Wood Shrimp. I've mentioned it (Hop's) before. Even their meatloaf was good. I want to say it was @OldPlayer and I talking about Applesouth? I miss that place.

Lightning Bold Gold. Their ales were good; lagers even better.

The only good thing about their closing was a Mexican place moved in. I loved their food but at the old location parking was a BITCH!! None, or get hit by a car at 55. LOL...owner got tangled up with illegals working at a few of his places. It's now a seafood joint.
Lightning Bold Gold was one of my favorites.

Most of the places he showed interested me, looked like places I'd pick, but the ones I've tried have sucked.
There was a bakery as one location. I'd known of the place for awhile. His "influence" didn't exist. The same for another restaurant / bar type place downtown.

Kuda's place? The idea of putting a lot of crap on a hot dog...yeah, not my thing 'til this day. I didn't know he had a place here until I found out about it through a comment on a sports site about the episode. Hell, it may have been here.

Blue cheese slaw, chili, crispy onions ...

The first dog, I would love to try but you can forget about the second one! That is just gross.
