I drink my share, lot less than I used to. I like bourbon as well but that's usually an evening drink. Are you primarily a beer drinker?

That's pretty much the same for me. It's usually beer, and if I drink bourbon it's while I'm sitting at the house. I make old fashions for my wife and I mix my bourbon with ice if I have some. I can't remember the last time I ordered a bourbon at a restaurant, probably over five years.I drink my share, lot less than I used to. I like bourbon as well but that's usually an evening drink.
Ordered a smoked old fashioned with Stagg last weekend in key west because I can't find it to make one at home. 99% of the time it's on the rocks but I like an old fashioned occasionally. Beer is kinda like water, I'll drink it anytime of day, bourbon is my night cap. I will drink a gin and tonic on warm days when I don't want a beer. Wife is more into key lime martinis and such, not for me. Had a dark rum old fashioned in key west as well that was really good. That's pretty much the same for me. You are one brave individual. I tried Naked Pig a good while back. It took all I had to keep my "Man" card to get through a 6 pack.I'd have to wash that burger down with a Naked Pig.
I turned my card in on IPAs. It would have to be life or death for me to drink a 6 pack, I normally can't get past the first taste. Will only try one if the bartender at the brewery talks me into theirs being different, they've been right all of once. You are one brave individual. I tried Naked Pig a good while back. Yeah, I went with it being a "homer" brewery out of Gadsden selling me on being a Bama born and brewed to it being some of the nastiestI turned my card in on IPAs. I'm not crazy about the truck stop, bit sweet for me, but I'll drink it. Blue pants used to make a good beer but I think they closed. I can get a couple here from cahaba and oyster city but none I really like.Yeah, I went with it being a "homer" brewery out of Gadsden selling me on being a Bama born and brewed to it being some of the nastiestknown to mankind.
But in fairness to Back 40, their Truck Stop Honey, ain't bad. It just took me 2 years of almost irreversible damage, to work up the courage try the Truck Stop Ale.
Their old IPA - it's been retired, thank goodness - wasn't that good. On a side note, apparently one of the owners of Back 40 has taken an interest in Coldwater Mountain Brewing in Anniston - in the old depot where Cheaha Brewing once was - and they don't even brew Coldwater there anymore. Their food is good and it's a good change of pace, but I liked some of their offerings. I'm glad I snagged a Cheaha Brewing sticker for my door before they cratered. Geezburger too, between Athens and Rogersville, at the Shaw/Ripley Rd intersection, south of Highway 72.He needs to add Martyās Stew Shack between Rogersville and Anderson, Alabama to his list. I ate at Staggs in the last week or so when my dad was in the hospital.
Have you tried Bell's Two Hearted? If not, try it, you'll like it!Haven't had many ipa's that I care for, just can't do bitter.
I have, I don't care for it. I can drink it but I don't like to.Have you tried Bell's Two Hearted? If not, try it, you'll like it!
Been to a couple but it's been a long time. I can tell you it's a burger joint but I don't remember where they were or how the food was. I wanna say Virginia but it's a guess.About a week ago I was skimming through accounts I follow on X looking at recipes. I caught an article in the feed about "Fuddruckers." That place went through as many owners and a 2 dollar whole goes through condoms. But, they still are hanging around here and there after almost falling off the face of the earth. Hell, they were compared to "Blockbuster" in the article.
How many of you guys have had a chance to eat there? I know there isn't one in AL. The one here closed years ago. I REALLY liked that place: was there every Sunday reading the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham Newspapers with a burger and a beer.
IF you haven't ... the "keys" to their business were ...
I loved the grilled to order; whether it was a burger or another sandwich. They baked their buns every day, in house. As soon as you walked in the door (normally it was hitting you in the parking lot) all you smell is fresh bread.
IF you aren't familiar...call this a recommendation if you have the chance. I've never been disappointed.

Same as Krimson, it was years ago for Fuddruckers at the Galleria in Hoover (think it closed back in the 90's). Reminded me of another microbrewery spot, Hop's, down in Lakeland FL. (been closed a while too), They had some of the best on tap draft I've ever drank.About a week ago I was skimming through accounts I follow on X looking at recipes. That's probably a good guess as to VA. It seems most of the current locations are in the MDV area with a few spread out here and there farther west. It's Myrtle, or the N part of the state for the closest to me.Been to a couple but it's been a long time. I can tell you it's a burger joint but I don't remember where they were or how the food was. To this day I still make the Walker's Wood Shrimp. I've mentioned it (Hop's) before. Even their meatloaf was good. I want to say it was @OldPlayer and I talking about Applesouth? I miss that place.Reminded me of another microbrewery spot, Hop's, down in Lakeland FL. (been closed a while too), They had some of the best on tap draft I've ever drank.

Yeppers. The toppings/presentation!Ironically, I was reminded of Fudruckers last week on the cruise.
