JONESBORO (7/8/08) — Tickets for the Arkansas State football team’s Sept. 27 game against Memphis at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium and Nov. 1 game against Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium are now available through the ASU Ticket Office.

The ASU Ticket Office has a limited number of tickets currently on sale for both games, but the last day to purchase a ticket for the Alabama game through Arkansas State University will be Aug. 1. Tickets for the Memphis game can be purchased through ASU until Sept. 13.

All tickets for the Arkansas State vs. Memphis game purchased through the ASU Ticket Office are $30 each, while tickets for the Alabama game are priced at $45 each.

ASU’s game at Memphis is part of a four-year deal with the school that brings the Tigers back to Jonesboro again in 2011. ASU won the last two meetings in the series, winning at Memphis in 2006 on a deep pass as time expired and again last season at ASU Stadium when it overcame a 25-point halftime deficit. Arkansas State has played Memphis a school-record 54 times since the teams first met in 1914.

While the Red Wolves will play Alabama in Bryant-Denny Stadium, which seats 92,138, for the first time ever, it actually played the Crimson Tide once before. ASU and Alabama met Oct. 2, 1982, but played at Birmingham’s Legion Field in a game that Alabama won 34-7. The Alabama game has the potential to draw the second largest crowd to ever watch an Arkansas State football game, just behind the crowd of 102,368 on hand for ASU’s game at Tennessee in 2007. Alabama has sold out every home football game since the 1988 season.

The Alabama game will mark the third consecutive year ASU has played an SEC opponent, also catching the Volunteers in 2007 and Auburn in 2006. It will also be ASU’s 49th all-time meeting with a current member of the Southeastern Conference.

Tickets for the Red Wolves season opener at Texas A&M on Aug. 30 will become available at a later date, while season tickets for ASU’s five home games during the 2008 season are already on sale at the ASU Box Office. Season ticket prices are $65 for general admission, $75 for reserved bench and $115 for chairbacks. Family ticket plans, which include four general admission tickets, are available for $160. The ASU Box Office can be contacted for group ticket rates.

Tickets for ASU road games and season tickets for all home games may be purchased by visiting the ASU Box Office at the Convocation Center Red Entrance between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or by calling the ASU Ticket Office at 870-972-ASU1 (toll free at 888-ASU-FANS). Tickets for all ASU home games can also be purchased through the internet by going to http://tickets.astate.edu.
