| OT ⚽ Any other Premier League fans here?

@SnakeDoc HOLY :poop:!! That second half today!

At least you and I can agree on one thing:

It was about as awesome as that meme! (y)

Here's here's our family breakdown:

Me: Man City
Mrs. Snake Doc: Liverpool
#1 Son: Tottenham
#2 Son: Leicester City
Daughter: Man United
#1 Son's girlfriend: Arsenal
#1 Son's best friend: West Ham

It's a blast.

Newcastle. Richest team in soccer will become the best team in PL. Not far from it already. Six straight clean sheets in PL play. Allowed only 11 goals in 19 games. Difficult to lose when they can't score on you. 10-8-1. Last PL loss was at Liverpool on August 31, 2022!

That oil money is piling up wins...Not too bad for such a long-time mediocre program with a bunch of nobody names.

That team is doing so well that it's letting its starting striker go.

I'm afraid Pulisic will be there next fall.

They've progressed faster than I thought, especially since they were in the relegation zone this time last year.

They have been in the relegation zone ever since I became a fan. And that was in 2018 when Almiron was purchased from Atlanta United. Ineptness reminiscent of my first 5 years as a Bama fan before Coach Bryant was hired.

And Newcastle under the previous ownership was reminiscent of the Falcons when Rankin Smith was the owner. Don't believe either cared whether their team won or lost. Their instructions to the coaches would have been along the lines of, "when the TV cameras come on, have 11 men on the field".

The more I watch them, the more I wonder how was Eddie Howe unemployed when they hired him? They've spent money, but they haven't just brought in a team like you would in FIFA by just grabbing the highest rated/paid players. They've actually got a plan to build that team, and are following it.

Do you think Chelsea makes the top 4 this year?

Top 4??

I don't know. It's very mathematically possible. Two of our best injured players will be back for the next match, and if Kante can ever get and stay healthy... These new signings definitely help the attack, but Chelsea have to go after a DMF. Snagging Enzo in June doesn't help this season.

Potter said he wants to keep Gallagher, and since that proclamation, Gallagher has played pretty well. If Palace offers the right amount of money, however, I think Gallagher will play in a different stadium in London. IF Chelsea will ever sign another midfielder.

OTOH, the addition if both Felix and Murdryk have shown the fans the problem never was Lamps, Tuchel, and/or Potter. This team has a lot of deadwood that needs to go. Maybe Gallagher will that midfielder who steps up to either replace an injured MF or be content with being the 3rd sub.

I like Gallagher, so of course, I'd like to see him somewhere other than Stamford Bridge. ;)

I'm trying to add him to my FUT in FIFA 23, but I keep getting outbid ar the last moment because of the transfer auction timing.

Arsenal 3 - 2 Man United on a late goal. Wish I could've watched the match.

Still hate seeing Zinchenko playing for Arsenal, though.

It was an okay game. I just haven't bought into how well Arsenal, Man U, and Newcastle are. The former is clearly the best of the three, but that's easy to do when both Chelsea and Liverpool are having an off year. While Odegaard has been a solid add for the gunners, Arsenal is still more than just a one-man team. The same cannot be said for Man U. They're just above average, and DeGea is crap. There is NO ONE on the Newcastle roster I'd love...like to see transfer to the Chelsea roster.

After Matchweek 20, Arsenal still on top. I didn't realize that Nottingham Forest had made it up to 13th, which is as surprising as Fulham in 7th, and Newcastle in 3rd!
