🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 WEEK TEN: Vandy vs Texas / UGA vs UF highlight this Saturday

The JMU game is one to keep an eye on. Their shot at the CFB Playoff's is still outside of a few other G5 teams but there's definitely a shot.

I notice that the UTEP-Kennesaw State game will be played in Fifth Third Stadium, which is obviously under the sponsorship of Fifth Third Bank. I've often wondered about the name of that institution, which seems to indicate that it's in its fifth iteration of banking after four unsuccessful earlier attempts. My advice would be for them take a more optimistic direction and change the title to First Fourth Bank.

I wondered too a few years ago and looked it up. Merger between third and fifth national banks.

I appreciate the explanation. That information leads me to conclude that averaging them into The Second Fourth National Bank (since there must have been a first one) would have been clearer and more arithmetically precise. This is the kind of issue that retirees have the leisure to mull over.

Playoffs- Group of 5

JMU handles business. With that in mind here's how I see the G5 invite group with a note on where I think you should look.

If the playoffs were today, by my math it would be Memphis: barely. They join a handful of teams with a shot at that lone bid: well, two handfuls because I can see around 10 teams with a shot.

Among those ten ...

I mentioned Navy the other day when we were looking ahead to last weeks games. The Midshipmen are still undefeated and are definitely in mix.

Another team in that mix is N. Texas who just so happens to play Navy Saturday. If chalk holds Memphis will still be in drivers seat Sunday morning. They are heavy favorites on the road this weekend versus Rice.

Gotta wonder if our Oline is as bad as people think
A HUGE caveat there.

What kills me is this is something talked about here several times before the season started. Bama doesn't have a good running back room. A skill with him, another with him, but no one guy who carries the complete package.

Pass pro has been as good as we could ask.
