📝 🏈 '26 Class Recruiting Updates: #SummerReign -- The Crimson Tide now have FIVE (!) 5-Stars Committed:

I'm hearing Tank Jones is likely Bama Bound
Several pages ago when I said Bama would get five, five's ... he was my fifth. Not that it matters ...

I don't feel as confident about him as I did then. I'm not discounting Oregon. I DO think A&M is the team to beat.

Zierer (I think that's how you spell his last name) OT that everyone has been pointing to AU. I don't know any differently. With the different stories floating around down there he might be one to watch. 🤷‍♂️ He's supposed to announce soon: no idea when. Kaawa is similar: we know it's coming just don't know when it's coming.

It's been a fun few months. We're starting to get a picture of how this staff operates on the recruiting end. I've had no lack of confidence. I'm continually seeing/hearing things that lead to good futures. IE: I think a few are starting to get the picture of how good the last class ended up coming together.

Yea funny money is being thrown around right now and it's ghost money, some of it isn't even real, just an attempt to get people to commit to the school and hoping that NIL pays out later. We kinda knew it would be the wild west, but I'm hearing a few of these schools are throwing around and promising money they don't even have. Hoping they can get donors or find an NIL deal to make it work.

The term I'm seeing tossed around is "early money." (Makes me chuckle a bit, yeah. "Let's just call it something else." 🤷‍♂️ )

In my opinion if the early money gets him, he's gone. I think he'll choose A&M before Oregon (knowing how 'liquid' these can get these days.) On the same end if he were to commit to Bama he's not one I'll be worried about changing his mind.

Other than QB, DL is the most important position to recruit, IMO. But, unlike QB, the market isn't flooded with really good DL (simple math). Imagine needing to sign 4 high level QB's per season... how quickly the talent well would dry up. Bama has struggled with DL recruiting (by their standards) for a while now, but that worm seems to be turning a bit, which is a bit of a surprise given him much money factors into it these days and UA ain't setting the bar there. There's some good recruiters on this staff... really good.

Absolutely spot on. If you can't run on a defense, you're chances of winning drops way out of your favor.
