Not the first play necessarily, but somewhere in the script I'd like to see a deep shot early... One thing this Bama offense needs, is to get the downfield/deep passing back on track. They've had some timing issues, some drops, and a few bad throws all mixed together the past few games... OU's defense is susceptible to giving up some, they are last in the SEC in giving up pass plays of 30+ yards. I would really like to see Milroe hit on some Saturday night... and not because they have to, but because they can.

Depending on opening field position, say -35 at worst, I’d call a shot play like that! I recall when I was coaching HS, our HC talked all week about going play-action first play. Friday comes and a bad kick had us at the -22. Coach started getting cold feet. I told him to go ahead and call it. We did. 78 yard and the tone was set.

I’ll go with zone read Keep by Jalen for 8.

Play action should be the first play of every game. Until it doesn't work. And then go back to it the next game because opponent thinks you won't run it again after it didn't work.
