OXFORD, Miss. – Alabama scored all seven runs across the first five frames to clinch a 7-4 win over seventh-ranked Ole Miss on Friday night at Oxford-University Stadium. The victory moves the Crimson Tide to 19-12 on the season and 5-5 in Southeastern Conference play.

Alabama got on the board with one in the first, but Ole Miss was able to counter for two in home half and had Tide starter Garrett McMillan on the ropes. The Alabama offense took the lead right back with two runs in the third and added two apiece in the fourth and fifth innings to provide McMillan with all the cushion he would need on the way to the win.

McMillan (3-2) battled back from that tough first inning to give the Tide a season-high tying 7.0 frames by night's end. The junior tossed 40 pitches in the first but stayed the course and finished with 72 over the final 6.0 innings for a career-high 112 pitches in his start. He allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with seven punchouts before turning it over to the bullpen. Brock Guffey contributed 1.1 relief frames with Dylan Ray using two pitches to get the final two outs.

All nine Crimson Tide starters reached base safely on Friday night with seven of the nine recording at least one hit. Jim Jarvis and William Hamiter each contributed three-hit efforts with Hamiter adding an RBI and Jarvis totaling a team-high three runs scored. Drew Williamson was tops in RBI with three as part of his 1-for-3 night that included a double.

From Head Coach Brad Bohannon

"I'm really proud of our team, that was one of our best efforts of the year. We had guys on in the top of the first, had a chance to get a big hit, and we didn't do it. We come out and go E5, walk, walk – I'm sure some of our fans started rolling their eyes – but Garrett (McMillan) got out of it and really settled in. He gave us an outstanding effort, and then Brock (Guffey) and Dylan (Ray) did great out of the pen. We had a lot of offensive production tonight, too. This was a good win for us, going on the road and beating a great Ole Miss team on Friday night in the first game of the series, so I'm really excited for our guys."

OXFORD, Miss. – A wild, back-and-forth game between Alabama and seventh-ranked Ole Miss went to extra innings, with the Crimson Tide coming out on top, 12-10, on Saturday afternoon at Oxford-University Stadium. The win clinched the series for the Tide and moved UA to 20-12 on the season and 6-5 in Southeastern Conference play.

The two teams combined for 22 runs and 27 hits, including eight home runs, while trading leads all afternoon. Alabama was first on the board with one run in the third, but a pair of solo home runs in the home half gave Ole Miss the lead. The Tide regained the advantage in the fourth with two runs but another pair of homers – a solo and a three-run shot – for the Rebels in the fourth put them back in front. Alabama was able to get three runs in the sixth before a grand slam from Drew Williamson in the seventh gave UA the advantage once again. A two-run shot for the Rebels in the eighth cut the lead to one and continued the home run derby, before Tim Elko's solo home run in the bottom of the ninth evened things up at 10 apiece to send the game to extras.

In the top of the 10th, Alabama rallied for a pair of two-out runs. The sequence started with a single from William Hamiter. He was followed by Zane Denton, with the junior recording his first hit of the weekend – the go-ahead, two-run home run. Dylan Ray returned to the mound for the home half of the 10th, getting a pair of flyouts and a 6-3 groundout to lock down the series-clinching win.

Ray (1-2) picked up his first win of the season, tossing 2.1 innings and allowing one run on two hits and a walk with two punchouts. Preceding Ray was Jake Leger, with the junior college transfer keeping Alabama in the game for 4.0 innings. Leger allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight. Leger's 4.0 innings of relief were the most by any Tide bullpen arm this season.

Alabama's offense was led by Williamson. The senior finished 3-for-5 with a team-high five RBI and three runs scored to go with a walk and the grand slam. Also tallying three hits was Andrew Pinckney, who finished 3-for-4 with a double, one walk and a team-high tying three runs scored.

From Head Coach Brad Bohannon

"This was an amazing effort from so many guys who made so many winning plays today. We kept fighting all game. The way Dylan Ray responded after the home run was huge. Drew Williamson had the big grand slam. Obviously, Zane (Denton) had the big home run. Tommy Seidl had the amazing catch in right in the ninth. And the list goes on and on. It was just a really complete team effort and a huge, huge win today."
