Maybe you are just joking but I would thunk they comp lodging for tourney participants. Now if they order extras, maybe those come out of the pro's pockets.

A family I know in Augusta makes "a pretty penny" renting their house out to PGA members during Masters week.

I am sure that happens at all courses. I just imagine the comp, bare bones option is there for those who choose it.

There are a few tournaments on the LPGA tour that have "host housing." I've never seen it available for the PGA tour.

The vast majority of tournaments will comp rentals for transportation. There's also an "unwritten rule," so to speak, that requires members of the tour to stay in nice hotels so they can maintain their "professional image."

While I haven't looked over every tour player, the ones I have looked at included room and board along with their travel expenses which are all out of pocket. (Some sponsors have covered travel expenses: JetBlue as one example.)

People pay their yearly mortgage renting out that one week. Huge business.
