I would imagine several prime coaches would be interested in Alabama’s opening. It’s not a program that needs repair or upgrading. The athletic department is supportive, the program can get whatever they need, you’d have alumni support and the facilities aren’t bad. Will Byrne take a gamble and go after some of the top coaches?

This will be an interesting hire. Will he bring in someone to keep the program competitive at a high level or get someone that will slowly destroy it like with women’s basketball? Even though Curry was hired by Bill Battle, Byrne has the authority to make a change and has not.
