TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's golf program opened the early signing period by signing Caroline Curtis of Richmond, Va. and Emilie Øverås of Ålesund, Norway to national letters of intent, head coach Mic Potter announced Thursday.

"We could not be more excited about our 2019 class," Potter said. "Caroline Curtis and Emilie Øverås are outstanding student-athletes and will be perfect additions to our roster. We want to thank Tony and Kelly Curtis and Arve and Nina Øverås for trusting the University of Alabama to guide their daughters academically and athletically through their college experience."

A three time All-State selection at Collegiate School, Curtis was the VISAA state champion and a Rolex All-American in 2017. She earned all-prep honors in 2016 and 2017. Curtis reached the match play rounds of the U.S. Women's Amateur in 2018 and competed at the USGA Women's Four-Ball Championship in 2017. She has already qualified for the 2019 Four-Ball event. Curtis has won two American Junior Golf Association events and posted six career AJGA top-10 finishes.

Øverås was a member of the 2017 Norwegian Junior Team Championship and 2017 Norwegian Ladies' Team Championship teams playing for Oslo Golf Club. She was also a member of Olso's runner-up squads in both events in 2018. She was a member of the Norwegian team at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, finishing fifth in the individual standings. Øverås earned a second-place finish at the 2017 Girls British Open Amateur Championship and was a quarterfinalist at the 2018 British Ladies Open.
