Pro's And Cons About Owning A Jack Russell

Pro: Jack Russell Terriers are a short-haired dog. Grooming is usually fairly easy (easier for smooth-coated Jacks).

Con: They do shed quite a bit tend to spend more of their time dirty than clean.

Pro: Jack Russell Terriers are a small dog but not yappy or timid as many small dogs can be. They are fearless.

Con: Sometimes they are too courageous, taking on much larger adversaries (sometimes they even win).

Pro: Jack Russell Terriers are full of life and energy. They are very person-centered and will want to be a part of your every activity. When you are home, they want to be with you - preferably on your lap

Con: Sometimes "energetic" can seem like "hyper." They require a lot of personal care, including hours of play and lots of room to run. Not a good apartment dog. May take some training to learn they cannot be in your lap ALL the time (for instance, during dinner).

Pro: Jack Russell Terriers are very intelligent. They can learn quickly when they want to.

Con: Jack Russell Terriers are very intelligent. They can learn quickly when they want to.

Pro: Jack Russell Terriers are friendly (at least in my experience). They like to meet new people and see new sites

Con: Sometimes not a good dog around children or other animals. Watch your dog's temperament carefully and curb any early signs of inappropriate aggression.
